SolidCAM Expands U.S. Organization
05 10月 2006

Appoints Bede Kortegast as VP of Sales for North America, SolidCAM Inc.

During the 2006 IMTS tradeshow in Chicago, USA, SolidCAM debuted its new release of SolidCAM2007 R11. The highlight of this release is a new powerful and market-proven module for High-Speed Machining (HSM) of mold, tools and dies, and complex 3D parts, which further extends SolidCAM`s existing 3D milling capabilities. Visitors to the booth comprised a large number of moldmakers who showed high interest in the demonstration of the new HSM module. They also appreciated SolidCAM`s seamless integration in the 3D-CAD system SolidWorks, which enables single window operation and toolpath associativity – a real “must” to reduce the production lead time.
To respond to this increasing demand for its manufacturing software in North America, Solid-CAM has opened its own subsidiary in the United States, and appointed Bede Kortegast as VP of Sales for North America. SolidCAM Inc., which will provide close support to SolidCAM’s resellers and customers. SolidCAM Inc. has offices in Pennsylvania, Washington and Missouri, giving broad coverage for each of the 3 US time zones. Bede has a 25-year experience in the sales and support of CAM Software. His company CIMETRIX Ltd. has been an active reseller of CAM software for more than 12 years and in the last 3 years, has been the SolidCAM distributor on the West coast and Mid-West regions of the US and Canada.

Dr. Emil Somekh, founder and managing director of SolidCAM, stated: “North America is an important target market. The IMTS exhibition showed the huge potential for an integrated CAD/CAM solution based on SolidWorks. We expect more customers to move from separate CAD and CAM systems to the combined SolidCAM + SolidWorks solution, especially as we now support the full range of manufacturing applications including High-Speed Machining.” He further commented: “Production and mold shops will benefit from the combination of seamless integration and superior functionality, as it will give them the opportunity to manufacture high accuracy 3D parts with shorter lead times and fewer expenses. Therefore, the strengthening of our presence in the North American market is a natural step to maintain our future growth”.
